End of the year sharks

I have recently moved to WordPress and I am still learning how to use my blog.

This is going to be my first post 😉

I want to share our end of the year with you.  We have had a great end of second grade. I had a great group and I will miss them next year.

Every year our whole school does a theme. We all decorate doors and halls. Last year it was The Circus. I loved this theme. This year we did water. Each grade focused on a different thing. We chose Oceans.

Ocean classroom doorThis is my coworker’s door. I forgot taking my picture. But we did it together so it looked the same.

First we painted and decorated paper. The kids drew some ocean creatures while the other teacher and I used the painted paper to create shapes. We used this patterns to help them.

let's draw ocean friends

We also did a shark craft I found on pinterest. It was so easy that I did not give them patterns, they did on their own. I like seeing all the different faces they created.

Our end of the year trip was a night in the Aquarium. It was awesome and I loved that all my students were able to attend. I think that this was the best way to end our year together. It was a wonderful experience. I did not sleep but I enjoyed every minute.

The kids were thrilled to sleep with sharks. But before going we studied sharks.

I always try to make a cute end of the year gift that is meaningful to them, and this year I found the best one!

I bought these pencil pouches the weekend after the trip. And I saved these sharks them for two months! I also added a personalized bookmark by the Brown Bag Teacher. You can get them here, they are free.

Summer fun and a giveaway

I have been very busy enjoying my first holiday week

Yesterday I went shopping with my high school friends. We had lots of fun buying some clothes, accessories and books. I could not avoid the children section of the book store and look what I found!
The Gruffalo, Marcianos en calzoncillos and Dinosaurios en calzoncillos! The three of them for only 7€!!!
And two of the are hard back!
I also bought a new laptop bag and some magic paint activity books. Those ones that you just need a brush paint and some water and the colors ‘magically’ appear on the picture. I used to love them when I was a kid.
I love SALES! 🙂

Next week I want to start working on my new science unit. We don’t have science books in our school so I have to build our new Astronomy unit from scratch. I have started with some fun printables… But check out at the end of the week to find some online free resources to teach your Space Unit in Spanish.

I have also joined Lacey’s great giveaway. She is celebrating that her great bolg Wild about Teaching has reached 500 followers. Can you believe that?
I donated my Summer craftivity as a prize. Check it out and participate. It has more than $100 worth of products from different teachers and 2 TPT giftcards.

Ice creams make life better and currently June

I have been reading all your blogs this week. Reading about Summer linky parties, end of the year games and so on. But I have 3 weeks left. We finish June 22nd. So we are having lots of tests and many teacher meetings.
In the middle of all this stress I finally managed to change my bulletin board. May flowers were shrivelling.

So I printed my latest craftivity and had an instant ice cream bulletin board. My students wrote about their favorite flavors and decorated their shops.
We had extra time so we decorated some ice cream for the Bulletin Board with our names on it.
Then I added some Summer clipart to fill some gaps.
Everything was quite quick as they could do it all themselves. Some even had some time to have fun with Summer fast finishers activities!
I can’t wait to finish our tests to start with all the end of the year fun!
Before that I am joining Oh boy 4th grade on the linky party. I enjoyed reading what is everybody doing. It’s a great idea for us, blog stalkers. 😉
