Johnny Appleseed for bilingual learners

Do you celebrate Johnny Appleseed in your classroom? I teach in Spain so we don’t. But I have learnt a lot this Summer and I created three resources that you can use in your classroom this week:

.

You can also visit this awesome site it has some great resources and some of them are in Spanish! Check out the teacher’s corner.

Thinking about going Back to School

We won’t go Back to School until September! And here I am already planning. I have spent many days drawing my School clip art, joining giveaways and creating my newest Back to School games and crafts.
You will be able to see ALL my school clip art in some days… I am currently working on my science clip art.
Be patient!  ðŸ™‚

My latest unit is something that has been on my mind forever. Every year I create something similar and this year I decided that I should create something better.
And here it is! I am superproud, It may look like a print and color craftivity but the good thing is that you can decide how long do you want your students to work on it.
You can use just a desk and a photo or go with the whole pack where your kids design their t-shirt, draw the faces and complete a school tool.
I like that each kid craft is going to look different.
You can check it on my TPT store.
If you get to buy and use it I would love seeing photos!

I am also joining a new linky from Fabulous 4th grade Froggies.

Fabulous 4th Grade Froggies

Back to School won’t happen until September but I already have a list:
1. Redesigning my Teacher Binder.
2. Working on my classroom management plan.
3. Laminating everything I have done/purchased.
4. Painting my cork board.
5. SHOP! I will be buying new baskets for my classroom. I can tell you I will buy more than baskets… 🙂
Now I am going to read all your lists. I know that that will make mine longer…

More Space resources

I have almost finished my Science unit!

Today I will be sharing some online resources songs for the planets and a small lapbook I have prepared and you can get on my TPT store.
I will be using it with my second graders but I have adapted it so you can use it almost in any grade.
So starting with the songs I have to say that it is very difficult finding a Spanish song that teaches planets without Plutón. So I just included some and we can always tell the students that it was considered a planet some years ago.
My favorite is the second one. I know it’s really old and the planets are not in order. But I use to sing it as a kid, so I teach it to my students too.

Here you have more good sites to work with your students when teaching about Space.
The first one is for upper students and they can learn about our Solar System.
Lots of facts and some animations.

The second site is great. You can find activities for PreK-K students 1st-6th graders and upper grades too.
In the activities for the younger ones there is a cute theatre activity that presents all the planets.
I will be using it next year.
In the 6-12 year old students you can find  videos, an online animation where your students can pick an astronaut, many facts and some online games.
In the older students section your students will learn facts and some History about Astronomy.
I am participating in Mrs. Castro’s 100 Fabulous Followers giveaway. She is a bilingual teacher in a multi-age classroom. WOW!
 Visit her blog to participate.
