Teacher Appreciation Jackpot

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and Sunday, May 6th is sure to be your lucky day! I’m excited to announce the very first Teacher Appreciation Jackpot, an amazing “blog hop” event involving over 130 bloggers!

We wanted to show our appreciation for you in a BIG way, so we’ve all agreed to give away one of our TeachersPayTeachers products for free on that day! Each free gift will be valued at between $3 and $8, so the total jackpot amount is estimated to be over $500! We’ll post the actual amount on Saturday, May 5th.

Because so many bloggers are participating, this event will be divided into three grade level groups. Each of those smaller events is being coordinated by one blogger as shown below:

Here is my free item:

DAYS OF THE WEEK CENTERS

Three different centers and a printable craft for your elementary spanish students.

Everything is done in Spanish and it has two levels for differentiating in the classroom.
Download the preview to read about the centers.

Thanks so much for all you do! We appreciate your commitment to your students and your dedication as an educator!

maths review

It looks like my last post had many views! Thank you everybody for coming!
To celebrate I will share one of my students favorite games.
When Summer is almost here they start feeling bored about mental math, so last year I came up with this idea during the Summer to have them enjoy this practice again. I was doing some cleaning at home when I found some board games my mother wanted to donate. This was a disgusting board game that consisted on picking inside this man’s nose. The winner was the one that made his brain jump. Disturbing…I know.
So a few weeks ago I introduced my first graders to “El SeƱor Mocoso”. I was a bit worried but they loved it!
So here is what we do. I ask them three rounds of addition problems and the one that guess 2 o more win the chance of picking inside his nose… If anybody pulls out the brain they get a round of applause from their classmates.
This silly game has returned their motivation.

Spanish Maths Resources

I love teaching maths to firstgraders, you have many manipulatives, foldables, games… You can find tons of ideas on the internet. When teaching maths I find it very easy translating online printable resources but what I can’t do is translating online games.
So here I am sharing some online maths games that my students play in Spanish. They are classified 1-6 grade. You can use it on your Smart Board or just send them to practice at home. Have fun!
