$25 giveaway, 50 followers and my latest unit

I can’t believe it! I have been blogging for almost 2 months now. And yesterday I discovered that I had 50 followers. That means a lot to me!
These last months I’ve learned a lot. I have joined linky parties, started on TPT and met new friends. I am so happy I finally decided starting this adventure… Who would have thought I was going to meet so many bilingual teachers? Thank you all!
But I won’t make it longer. I have prepared a gift to all of you MY DEAR FOLLOWERS.
I will be giving a $25 card next week!

Good luck to everyone participating.

I want to present my newest unit too. My Father’s Day Fun Printables on TPT. Check it out for the upcoming celebration in the classroom. Maybe you are able to get it for free if you win this giveaway!

Teaching a trial classroom.

I have introduced myself as a dual language teacher. But in fact, I’m a trial language teacher.
This is how it works.
I teach in Spain, where everybody speaks Spanish. Spain is divided into different regions. Some of this regions have their own regional language: Gallego, Euskera, Catalan, Valenciano, Mallorquin… So if you teach in one of those regions you have a dual classroom.
How do we divide language teaching time? By subjects: language arts in both languages, maths in the kids mother tongue (in many regions their mother tongue is not Spanish, parents choose that option), Science and Socials studies are taught in the regional language
Specialities are taught by other teachers: P.E., Arts, Music and Religion. Parents choose the language they want kids to study them.
And here comes the English language. We have ESL, BUT it worked so poorly that when kids arrive to High School they can’t understand a simple conversation, so politicians decided some years ago that our classroom wouldn’t be bilingual any more, they will become TRILINGUAL.

I know. It sounds crazy!

So this is how my classroom works:
Valenciano language arts
Valenciano maths
Valenciano Science and Social Studies
Valenciano PE
Valenciano Music
Spanish language arts
English ESL
English Art

I currently teach valenciano and Spanish language arts, math, Science and Social Studies. I used to teach Art too, it depends on the year.

I hope I explained it clear enough and you can see more or less how we teach in our TRIlingual school.

I will be linking up with I teach dual language who is hosting a very interesting linky party.

Favorite (Spanish) Read-Alouds Linky Party

I read this post from Run Miss Nelson’s got the camera and I needed to join.I will share my favorite Read-Alouds in Spanish.

You can find almost every book in this list in English too. But I just wanted to share them in Spanish.

I usually loop with my students (1st-2nd grade) so I have two different lists for favorite Read-Alouds for each grade.
In first grade I mainly read picture books that they will read later in the classroom library.
In second grade I love reading chapter books to my students. They still like picture books. But reading the first book on a character series helps me to ‘hook’ them on the series.

I know it is difficult finding this books in Spanish at cheap prices. So I wanted to share this wonderful site. It is like amazon but it is a bit cheaper and FREE delivery WORLWIDE:

10% Discount / APMA12 Coupon Code / Book Depository

This week they have 10% OFF sale.
