Christmas and getting ready for winter

We had lots of fun before Christmas break. I wish I had taken more photos.
We had a Grinch day with cute crafts and some writing. Then we watched the film. Can you believe none of my students had heard about The Grinch? They were super excited with the movie.

I bought

Christmas Print and Play Number Worksheets from Melanie (From the Pond). My students loved the spinner games! It is one of my favorite purchases from TPT.

Our last craft was a big Santa paper craft! Sorry I don’t have the pattern. But it is pretty simple as you can see.

We have also created these cute snowmen to celebrate winter. I have seen this activity all over pinterest.

Each student has drawn their own pieces for the collage- I love that they all look different.
As soon as we came from Christmas break we celebrated Los Reyes Magos. I have some resources from last year.
Kids brought their new toys. Then we talked about the cabalgata(parade) and their Roscón the Reyes (traditional cake).
They toys have been in the classroom about a week and I can say that they have been sharing them and taking care of them.
Our next goal is writing. We will be doing some writing activities.
You’ll find this snowman writing in my TPT store: How to make a snowman craftivity

Studying ca co cu que qui

WOW! I can’t believe how long I have waited to write a new post.
Lots of new things are going on and I have totally neglected my blog. New house, new school and new city!

I had been teaching in the same school for 6 years. This year I moved to my hometown and started in a new school. I won’t be able to post school photos for now so I guess I’l have to provide freebies instead.

This year I am teaching first grade again. 🙂 I have been creating some resources to teach Spanish spelling: This week I’ll share some resources for

ca   co   cu   que   qui

We started we an anchor chart and some word brainstorm.
Then we move on with the worksheets.

I created a first worksheet with lots of pictures to classify sounds. Painting each sound with a different color.

The second worksheet was created to cut and and glue each picture on their notebooks. then they folded it like a little door and wrote the words under the flap.

Click on the worksheets to download the pdf.

If you are studying CA CO CU QUE QUI chec out my Spanish Centers to teach Ortografia:

Nothing is complete without a game. This is a simple tetris game but it helps with review. It is simple but it works.

Learning about polygons

We’ve been learning about polygons recently. We used some online games on the Smartboard. The kids loved them so I wanted to share the online.
All of them are in Spanish, but you’ll find different levels. I used all of them in my second grade classroom.

Have fun!

We used the Polygons Fold & Learn craftivity. It was super easy to put together and it was a good review before the test. You can find it in my TPT store.
