I am not ready, of that I am sure…
We don’t go back until September, but I know that many of you are already waking up early and attending school meetings. And what does a teacher need at the beginning of the year? Resources and coffee!
Scroll down to see What I have been working on and the giveaway.
Some new science foldables are on the way:
The clipart is being drawn specifically for each foldable so it is completely unique.
I am also working on revamping my oldies. If you own any of these, redownload.
If you haven’t visited for a while you maybe you remember my old blog design. It was a free one I found some years ago. It was time to have a good design. I love this new look. If you want to have a new design click here. I loved that it was created from scratch just for me and the designer made it personal. THANKS!!!
And now the giveaway! Good luck!

I have recently moved to WordPress and I am still learning how to use my blog.
This is going to be my first post 😉
I want to share our end of the year with you. We have had a great end of second grade. I had a great group and I will miss them next year.
Every year our whole school does a theme. We all decorate doors and halls. Last year it was The Circus. I loved this theme. This year we did water. Each grade focused on a different thing. We chose Oceans.
This is my coworker’s door. I forgot taking my picture. But we did it together so it looked the same.
First we painted and decorated paper. The kids drew some ocean creatures while the other teacher and I used the painted paper to create shapes. We used this patterns to help them.
We also did a shark craft I found on pinterest. It was so easy that I did not give them patterns, they did on their own. I like seeing all the different faces they created.
Our end of the year trip was a night in the Aquarium. It was awesome and I loved that all my students were able to attend. I think that this was the best way to end our year together. It was a wonderful experience. I did not sleep but I enjoyed every minute.
The kids were thrilled to sleep with sharks. But before going we studied sharks.
I always try to make a cute end of the year gift that is meaningful to them, and this year I found the best one!
I bought these pencil pouches the weekend after the trip. And I saved these sharks them for two months! I also added a personalized bookmark by the Brown Bag Teacher. You can get them here, they are free.
If you are studying sharks with your students check out my other shark entries with more info and ideas.
This is our last week before Spring break. We have finished our moon unit. If you have following for a while there are many Space resources
in the blog. The moon foldable
has been updated and now includes this astronaut craftivity and a Neil Armstrong foldable too.
We just used the moon information but this activity can be used in many different ways.
We are also studying money.
I gave the kids lots of ice-cream pieces and asked them to design the best ice-cream ever.
They really did their best.
Once they had glued all the parts I posted the prices on the whiteboard and asked them to calculate the price of the ice-cream and pay me 😉 .
There were some regrets like: My ice-cream is too big. But in the end everyone was able to find the coins needed.
In my school we always staple all the student’s worksheets at the end of each term. This is the cover we used for this term. Click on the picture and grab it:
I projected this examples on the smartboard and asked them to design their own Easter friends.
They were really proud.
I wish I had taken a photo with all of them.
